Digital magazine publishing seems to be complicated. Not because of technological aspects of publishing, but even because of the problems with „digital magazine” term.
So let’s start with explanation what digital magazine is. We live in content marketing era nowadays, so content is everywhere. What’s more there is plenty ways to deliver it. Borders between them are blurred. We can say that digital magazine is some form of organized or curated content. It should be repeated. It should be made for mass audience (not for only one reader). It should be the same for every reader (at least in the large part). Someway it should be similar to paper magazine, means it should have name, issue signature, cover, table of content, pages. Of course all these features should be treated from new „digital” perspective.
